The Institution of Exeter is a public research university based in Exeter, Devon, in the United Kingdom.

There were several forerunners to St Luke’s: the Exeter School of Science (founded in 1838), the Exeter School of Art (1863), and the Camborne School of Mines (1888).

After acquiring their royal charter in 1955, the institutions united to establish Exeter University.

  • The University of Exeter Sanctuary Scholarship waives all tuition and provides a stipend of £9,500 each year of study to help students meet their living expenses.
  • Full waiver of tuition and a stipend of £15,285 per year for living expenses are available to Doctorate Scholars in STEM fields.
  • In addition, a research allowance of £5,000 per year will be paid. Only 3.5 years of total financing will be provided.
  • Full waivers of tuition and a stipend of £15,285 per year will be given to doctoral students in the HASS fields.
  • Additionally, a yearly research grant of £750 will be provided. There will be a three-year limit on all funding, as well.
