Fulani Herdsmen From Mali, Chad, Others Plotting Attacks In S/West – Amotekun

The Oyo State chapter of the South-West Safety Community, aka Amotekun, has revealed that international Fulani herdsmen are plotting to assault forests within the area.

Naija News stories that this was made identified on Wednesday by the chairman of the chapter, Basic Kunle Togun (rtd).

He said this whereas talking at an annual lecture organised by the scholars of the Institute of Peace and Strategic Research, College of Ibadan.

The Amotekun chief spoke on the theme, “Security challenge: Holistic approach and the significance of regional security dimensions.”

Togun, who was a director on the Directorate of Navy Intelligence, warned residents of South-West states to be vigilant due to the presence of international Fulani herdsmen.

He famous that the Fulani, who had been primarily from Mali, Niger Republic, Chad and Burkina Faso, had been residing within the forests for some years.

“The people who are supposed to administer Nigeria to move forward are biased in the aspect of religion. The Fulani that I grew up to know were the native Fulani,” he mentioned.

“However these ones inflicting issues are non-Nigerians. They’re from FutaJallon, Mali, Bourkina Faso, Chad, Niger Republic. A few of these folks had been Tuaregs, who used to ambush merchants within the olden days and robbed them of their cash and property.

“These foreign Fulani, somebody has told them that Allah has given Nigeria to them as their heritage and they are coming here to come and take what Allah has given them.”
