Requirements for Ruth First Education Scholarship Qualification

Applicants should:

  • apply for admission to a Master’s degree program at the University of Cape Town if you have a relevant honors degree of sufficient quality;
  • if you have not previously studied at a university outside southern Africa, and if you show evidence of active involvement in and commitment to volunteer work for the benefit of causes such as community development, youth or educational projects, charitable organizations; health or AIDS awareness projects; and student welfare.
  • It’s imperative that you demonstrate leadership and dedication beyond the call of duty if your profession entails working in these types of environments.
